Jan. 15th, 2007 08:38 pmWell, I changed the journal name. I like this name much better than the previous "ghostfungus."
Why Quinqueg? Suffice it to say that I've become obsessed with the number five. Not on the level of Gehn, but close. And in a stroke of pure genius or weirdness, I considered that the Latin prefix for five is quinque and also remembered the Moby Dick character Queequeg.
Yeah, it's odd, but I like it. And I really disliked ghostfungus - it didn't roll off the tongue as well.

Date: 2007-01-16 12:59 pm (UTC)I'm kinda disappointed with dA on that respect - they spend all this time klonking around on a new site design when they could be adding actual features. They also don't allow for account deletion. But I imagine it would free up some server space if you could have two names pointing to the same account instead of two accounts. Plus there's horrid user confusion.

Date: 2007-01-16 05:25 am (UTC)1. What is "The Horrid MacGuffin" supposed to mean?
2. Is being able to change your username a paid-only feature? Because I don't see it anywhere under the list of settings that can be changed.

Date: 2007-01-16 12:53 pm (UTC)2. The rename token service is kinda hidden for some reason. It's not a paid account feature, but it does cost money, presumably because of some server wrangling involved. If you want to rename your journal, you'll need to buy a rename token for $15.
