As a bonus, all parts were returned to their families without damage. No need for a memorial after all. Though they will, of course, receive medals for their bravery continued workingness.

Date: 2007-09-04 03:33 pm (UTC)More on topic, I tend to have similar problems with mice and skin remnants. Mostly cosmetic -- scroll wheels turning yellow and crud building up on the buttons. I hope my current mouse never develops the problem yours has: it's got no way to open it up!

Date: 2007-09-04 04:40 pm (UTC)Mine doesn't have a proper way to open it up either. But that's not going to stop a determined guy with a knife. Unfortunately, I seem to have pried off the glue keeping it on as well; luckily that piece was essentially cosmetic only.
I think I may have to toss it anyway - it's having scroll problems again already!
