It works! I have triumphed over the skin cells of months past and returned the mouse to its former mightiness functionality. Yay!

As a bonus, all parts were returned to their families without damage. No need for a memorial after all. Though they will, of course, receive medals for their bravery continued workingness.

Wild. I go to the library to pick up the new New Pornographers CD that was waiting for me, and come back to find one of their songs listed in somebody else's Current Music for what I think is the first time.

More on topic, I tend to have similar problems with mice and skin remnants. Mostly cosmetic -- scroll wheels turning yellow and crud building up on the buttons. I hope my current mouse never develops the problem yours has: it's got no way to open it up!

Yep. My music of-the-moment is completely your fault.

Mine doesn't have a proper way to open it up either. But that's not going to stop a determined guy with a knife. Unfortunately, I seem to have pried off the glue keeping it on as well; luckily that piece was essentially cosmetic only.

I think I may have to toss it anyway - it's having scroll problems again already!
