Hey, I've got a question for anyone reading this. Well, for any comic book readers, anyway. Does anyone out there know what a typical page count for an issue of a comic book is? And if it varies, what are some standard amounts?

I'd find out myself, but since my sole foray into the realm of comic books was an issue of a Where In The World Is Carmen Sandiego? comic some years ago and someplace else, I don't know if there even are any stores around here.

(Okay, so that was two questions. Whoops.)

Hiya! I'm just a random passerby cruising my Friends of Friends list, but I figured...hey, I can answer this question! I've been a comic geek for as long as I can recall, I have even worked in a comic book store (which is a whole level of devotion we shall not get into, which involves the Green Lantern Vs. Jedis).

The general page count of your standard Marvel or DC comic is from 20 - 24 pages. However, it CAN and does vary significantly thanks to small press and self-publishing -- I've seen comics as small as 2 pages, and as big as 50 pages (which is about as big as you can get without treading graphic novel territory). 20 - 24 is the standard, though. 36 and 48 pages get tossed around for double and super and one-shot (one story, no significant plot outside the story) issues.

Hope that helps!

Thanks! This'll help a lot - I'm writing a comic of sorts that I wanted to release in issues, but had no idea on the pages.

But this is a big help. Thanks again!
