Coloring with character.

I stumbled across a tutorial by Les McClaine earlier regarding how to color "like a little old lady." It's quite a bit of fun, with interesting results. It's all about replicating that era of sloppy, off-register printing. I tried my hand at it:

It's not great, but it's really quite fun to do. Compared to the normal version, however, it's got tons more character:

Now I'm considering coloring all Kitewinds like this. But I don't think the story lends itself to that style of coloring. Pity. It's such a fun style.
