"Hey! That dragon's making faces at me!"

Been working with some Sculpey this weekend and this is the result:
Sorry about the picture quality. My camera's a bit wonky on indoor pictures.

Obviously, I still have to work on my sculpting, though I think the painting is what really needs improvement.

That's pretty good for a first time actually. Can't see myself doing any better. The way you have it mounted kinda makes it look like a sea serpent sticking its head out of the water.

Thanks. I didn't see the sea serpent thing until after I finished it. I think it works better than I originally intended.

I think my major problem was the painting. I was using 10+ year old brushes and acrylics, which is partly why I had so much trouble. One brush even had the nerve to fall to pieces in mid-painting. I'll have to get duller acrylics next time, as these were far too shiny.

I see you've used the David Simpson template for dragons.

I can't make it out from that angle, is the tongue extending from a closed or open mouth?

Actually, I based it more on Rex Benson's style, whom I purchased a sculpture from in the summer. Well, mainly I based the mouth on it, and sort of guessed the rest.

The mouth is supposed to be open. It was quite a bit more obvious unpainted.
