I get a headache when I wash my hair in the shower. At first I thought it was random, but it's been happening consistently enough for me to make the connection.
...What the heck?!
...What the heck?!

Date: 2010-10-05 06:29 pm (UTC)I think that the shampoo is somehow tightening the skin on the back of my head, thereby pulling on the nerves. Kind of like a tension headache, where the muscles contract from stress, yanking the nerves with them. One of my medicines actually operates on a similar principle: it's a patch that chemically lowers the temperature slightly, which temporarily loosens the skin a bit and relaxes the nerves.
(At least, that's my understanding of how it works. It could be wrong. But tension headaches do tend to radiate out from the back of the head.)
Although I suppose it could be a sort of allergic reaction that's causing the skin to tighten. Hadn't thought of that!
