There's a documentary currently being made on the Helvetica typeface. The website has plenty more details, and it looks incredibly beautiful. They even interviewed Hermann Zapf. Dude, Hermann frickin' Zapf! Come on! How can I not like a movie that interviews such a big name in the type industry? (Answer: I can't.) How come I found out about this only just now?
I must see this movie. It is making my inner typographer squeal with glee.
Now if only they'd make a documentary on Garamond and Caslon. Helvetica is great, no doubt. Global, even. But Garamond and Caslon are just plain sexy.
